The works of Bach takes pride of place in the world of organ music. It was nearly impossible for the generations that followed him to surpass him. Musical tastes evolved rapidly in the second half of the 18th-century, some members of Bach's family were better known than Johann Sebastian at that time. 16 composers, who had been taught by Bach wrote for the organ too. This CD brings into contrast a number of Bach's later works with those of his students and is a fascinating musical chronology.
