Description
JAV 112 Comes Summertime Highlights from Riverside Summer Recitals 1998
Outstanding performances by Cherry Rhodes, Peter Stoltzfus, James Abbington, Timothy Smith and Peter Richard Conte put the Riverside organ through its paces, exploiting its vast resources to the utmost. Larry Kings "Revelations of Saint John the Divine" for organ and electronic tape performed by Rhodes is marvelously spooky and other-worldly. Selections from Widors seventh symphony sing in Stoltzfuss hands, and Contes transcriptions of the "Sorcerers Apprentice" by Dukas, Wagners "Liebestod," and Ponchiellis "Dance of the Hours" are delightfully thrilling.
